The material of this flush mount track light body is aluminum, the matching track is an embedded track. Mainly used for jewelry display lighting and museum displays.
Flush (recessed) track is routed into the cabinet so the track sits level with the panel and only the heads show. It is the specification for new joinery and for any project where the client does not want to see hardware. It needs a routed channel and must be planned before the cabinet is built.
Surface track screws onto the panel. It is the retrofit answer and the one we recommend if the cabinets already exist. Heads are interchangeable between the two, so you can start on surface track and move to flush on the next store fit-out without replacing the fixtures.
Plan the track length, not the head count. Heads slide along the track, so ordering the full run gives you room to re-aim later. Cutting the track to exactly today’s head count is the most common regret we hear.
Power feeds. Our magnetic track runs DC12V, so each run needs a driver. Tell us the run length and total wattage and we will size the driver with headroom instead of running it at 100%.
